Brynn Dexter is eager to experience the romance and flavor of a foreign teaching job. Answering an ad for a job in Laurivenia is just what Brynn had in mind for a grand adventure until she arrives and discovers the teaching job was all a ruse. It seems there is a very lonely little girl who needs a nanny more than she needs a teacher and who better to teach the little girl, and maybe her gorgeous father as well, to live a little is right up Brynn’s alley.

Alex du Charbonneaux is the crown prince of Laurivenia who just wants to find someone to care for his child who doesn’t have ulterior motives. Brynn Dexter is not what he planned for; she is a beautiful and young woman, not the spinster Mary Poppins he had hoped to hire. But once he meets Brynn and sees how she draws his daughter to laugh and have fun, he is helpless to stop the attraction. Though they are drawn to each other, it is still too much to hope that the prince will want the pauper, isn’t it?

A fun love story that pits a free spirited woman against a stuffed shirt, workaholic prince, Lessons in Love is a lovely way to spend an afternoon. Alex and Brynn are just opposite enough to supply the other with what was missing in their lives. The antics provided by Brynn’s need to add fun and flavor to the household are laugh-out-loud funny at times and a little emotional at others. Alex is a wonderful alpha male, traditional of many foreign men, dominant in personality while needing love and “home” more than he admits. He is a hero I will not soon forget. Brynn, on the other hand, is a free spirited woman who has no idea of the impact she has on the people around her. She is warm and funny, charming and smart, and a little shy in the self esteem department. She is a wonderful foil for Alex’s personality. Lessons in Love may be a classic “opposite side of the tracks” type of story, but it is fresh and fun and well worth the time invested.
