Nick Markov is taking his upset and drunken partner, Ethan, home, when a body lands on the roof of his car. The body belongs to Andrew Langan, a prominent businessman. Homicide detectives, they can’t believe a murder has just about fallen on top of them and they embark on an investigation where nothing is as it seems. All evidence seems to point to the wife, Augusta Langan. Even though, Augusta and Andrew were in the process of divorcing, she remained the sole heir to a fortune, a very convenient motive. Nick’s gut tells him it is not true and his heart knows this as well. Augusta is not his type but he cannot seem to get her out of his mind and his dreams. Knowing it is against procedure, Nick can’t help but want to keep her safe and provide her with a safe haven.

The story of Nick and Augusta was captivating as Nick defied procedure and decided to personally protect a murder suspect. Augusta was confused and not sure what to do but knew she could not continue to deny the desire she felt for Nick. As the story unfolds, a series of twists and turns kept my interest as I tried to figure out what would happen next. Explosive passion and danger from surprising sources combine to make Fall Down a book that will keep you up all night as you devour the story. Ann Bruce has written an A+ story.
