Review: Satin Lies by Tricia Jones
Faye Benedict did not want to trap Enrico, the man she loves, into marrying her out of duty and responsibility. That is why eight years ago she ran away when she discovered she was carrying his child. She confided in Enrico’s little brother, her childhood friend, and they both agree to a phony marriage; a marriage that will help them both keep their secrets from Enrico.
Enrico Lavini is the heir to the family dynasty and he rose to put his duties and responsibilities above himself, especially when looking after his little brother. The role fit perfectly until he slipped when his desire for Faye triumphed over his sense of duty. Regardless of the fact that he thought she was his brother’s woman.
An accident has taken Enrico’s brother’s life and left him the responsibility of taking care of his brother’s amnesic widow and child. He is confident he can keep his feelings for Faye guarded but as her memory returns, long hidden secrets are exposed. He is about to succumb to his desire without his little brother to stop him this time.
Satin Lies is a well written and well paced book, conceived to capture readers’ attention from page one. However, I found the plot conventional, exploiting frequently used topics in romance without any unexpected twist. Tricia Jones does know how to tell a story and manages to keep readers attracted and turning pages until the end.
