Marisa Clyde barely survived her vacation. Saved by a group of soldiers which included Chief Warrant Office Jake Sullivan, Marisa finds herself attracted to him but does not want to act on it. Returning home Marisa finds her uncle has hired Jake to fill in at the bar for a month. Marisa was hurt in the past and does not want to open herself up again. As the danger escalates, Jake finds his skills from the military are not all he will need to save Marisa. His protective instincts flare when he realizes she is in danger, interfering with his idea that one night will cure him of his obsession for her.

Denise A. Agnew pens characters that jump off the page. Marisa, hurt in the past, does not want to get involved with someone in the military while Jake thinks his lust can be solved by some quality time together. Both learn a little lesson in what they really want. An intriguing tale from beginning to end, your interest will be caught with the first word and then held by the two main characters as well as the underlying mystery. Private Maneuvers is another exciting winner for Denise A. Agnew.
